I think I have found my new favourite candy range. I have slowly been trying the various different options from Sainsbury’s, as my local store rarely has more than 2 options available. But I am now certain I will pick these up anytime I need a sweet treat because they are just too good!
These are the first foam sweets I have found that are actually foamy. All other foam sweets I have tried have been far closer to a gummy sweet than a foam one: there’s no lightness to the sweet, and no bouncy texture, and they often had this grainy texture to them which would sometimes be quite off-putting. But not these! They really are as close to non-vegan foam sweets that I have ever tried and the texture is exactly how I remember foam sweets to be: slightly firmer than a marshmallow but still light and fluffy whilst chewing.
The flavours are also so good in these. Again, I found that so often most vegan sweets do start to taste the same. I’d sometimes have some candy that claimed to be a certain flavour but then never really lived up to that. I had thought that maybe I just have a terrible palet, but after trying these I don’t think that is the case. With every sweet I can tell what the different flavours are and they hold their flavour until the very last chew.
My favourites so far are the Arctic Softies, because they remind me exactly of the milkshake candy bottles of my childhood. The exact same flavour and texture, albeit they are shaped like cute little monsters rather than milk bottles now. That being said though, all of these options have been amazing. Be warned though, the sour seas will literally make your eyes water with just how sour they are – yet another example of these sweets not holding anything back!
