I doomscroll. I know this is not the best thing to do, but I do find that a little 10 minute scroll online helps me disconnect my brain from my work thoughts. It’s like a nice hard reset for my brain to go from ‘work mode’ to ‘downtime mode’.
I do however want to start some hobbies that are not screen based. Videos games are a big help, but I still have to look at a screen to enjoy them. I do enjoy reading, but again I mostly read e-books because it means I do not have to carry a book around with me everywhere I go. I do a lot of writing, but again mostly online as I don’t always have the bag space to carry a full notebook around with me. I do a lot of working out as well, but again there is a limit as to how much of this I can do in a day – and it is not really reasonable for me to go for a run at 9pm as a way to unwind for the evening.
I am wanting to try a hobby that is creative but takes very little resources to get going. So I am open to any and all recommendations! Any hobby that does not involve a screen and does not require me to invest lots of money in order to get started with it.
