Kookie Cat Lil Cookie Monster

I am currently working on eating more mindfully, and also eating foods that are more nutritous and more ‘macro friendly’. I do however work in an office and anyone who has ever worked in an office will know that tea breaks and coookies are a sacred part of the office culture. Luckily for me, these cookies were bought for the office for all of us to share, and as theya re vegan friendly and seemed to be a slightly healthier option than a bourbon biscuit, I thought it would be rude to not give these a go.

Whilst they are described as a cookie, these are a lot more savoury than I was expecting. They are made out of oats, cashews, and coconut flakes, with a few chocolate chips thrown in for good measure and a few vegan friendly ‘smarties’ for decoration. As this cookie is mostly oats and cashews, it is not a sweet cookie. The coconut did help to give it a little hint of sweetness, but the cookie itself was actually very plain. The chocolate therefore helped to cut through that plainess, and the little smarties added a nice crunchy texture to the otherwise quite creamy cookie texture. Personally, I relaly like this cookie – I liked that it wasn’t actually sweet, and I realy liked the soft, chewy texture of the cookie. The cookie was also surpisingly filing, no doubt thanks to the oats and the cashews. They are a decent size, but one is more than enough to satisfy a little sugar craving and allowing you to feel full but not bloated.

The only downside is that this isn’t really a cookie, and I would say it is more similar to a coconut macaroon. I do love those as well, so for me it isn’t really an issue, but I don’t think ‘cookie’ is a very accurate description of what to expect with this.

This was obviously bought by my work but I have seen these for sale online for around £1.50 a cookie, depending of course where you buy them from. There are also multipacks that can be bought that bring the price down of each individual cookie down quite a bit as well, as is usually the case with any bulk buys. I do think that £1.50 is a pretty reasonable price for a snack of this size, and I do think it is quite on par with non-vegan options too which is rare!
