Mummy Meegz choccy balls

Valentine’s day has been and gone, and I hope you all had a lovely day if you are someone who celebrates the day. Personally, I don’t, but I am always a big fan of seeing all of the love that goes around during Valentine’s day. Especially in today’s climate, I feel we need more love in the world.

I am also a big fan of the chocolate discounts that follow Valentine’s Day. I always keep my eye out just in case there is anythig new or any favourites that I can pick up for cheap, and I feel I struck gold with this find! I have always struggled to find the Mummy Meegz products in actual shops, as I have mostly only ever seen them for sale through specialist online stores or at vegan food markets, so was very excited to not only find these on the shelves, but also on discount!

If I had to compare these to a non-vegan product, I would say these are very similar to the Lindt chocolate balls. These have a very crispy outer shell of chocolate and are filled with a chocolate creme. This product in particular was just chocolate, although I imagine it would be quite easy to expand this into all kinds of different flavours and textures. The outside shell gives a lovely, satisfying crunch, whilst the creme filling is very much creamy and rich, so it all gives a very nice combination of textures. Now as they are all quite a dark chocolate, they are very rich, so honestly I could only manage two of them before I started to feel a bit overwhelmed by the richness of the chocolate. They are very decadent though, so definitely fill that gap as Lindt doesn’t offer vegan options for their chocolate balls.

Mummy Meegz does tend to be one of the more affordable vegan brands out there, but I do find them very hard to actually find and so I don’t regularly buy any of them. But I managed to get this packet for 80p at my local Waitrose and 80p is an absolute bargain for these! According to the pricetag they are normally ÂŁ2, which I do think is quite reasonable for these since you do get around 10 balls per packet (give or take). I did debate buying up all of the stock for 80p a packet, but I also don’t want to be that spoil-sport person for someone else. Highly recommend these if you do find a packet!
