Lidl Vemondo chocolate chip and orange Oat cookies

I am so nervous for Veganuary to end because my local Lidl will likely go back to being very limited in its vegan offerings. I am trying to stop by my local store throughout the week to see if I can find anything else new, and so far they seem to have something different each time. Which is both very exciting – because yay new food! – but also worrying as it does make me worry that these products are very much limited edition.

As with all Lidl products, these are very much your standard cookie. They do have a very strong orange smell to them when you first open the packet, and whilst the orange flavour is very obvious, it isn’t overpowering. As they are dry cookies, they are very crumbly, however I have found that they are very good for tea dipping (if you are someone who wishes to partake in such activities) which is a guilty pleasure of mine. They are very crumbly, so just be aware of that (especially if dipping) but they are very tasty and exactly what you would expect. These cookies are also gluten free, which means that they will be a very good gift idea for any gluten free vegan friends you know. Personally, these cookies were delicious and the chocolate orange flavouring was very strong without being sickly or overpowering.

A packet of these cookies cost £1.99 and I had 10 cookies in my packet. So very much on par with a non-vegan packet of cookies. these are definitely an affordable treat that you could buy quite regularly, as that is literally the whole point of Lidl – affordable and convenient foods. As I mentioned previously, I have not been able to tell whether or not these new Veganuary products will still be available come February 1st, and I will definitely aim to stock up on these cookies prior to February just to be on the safe side.
