It is the festive period which means it is time for all of the sparkle. It is arguably the one time a year where sparkle can be – and is actively encouraged to be – worn to excess. Now personally, I am not someone who would normally wear a lot of sparkly items, usually sticking to some pretty earrings or pieces of jewellery rather than wearing a sparkly item of clothing. But I also can’t say no to some pretty nail polish colours, and Barry M never disappoints!

I bought the Diamond Luxe shimmer nail polish in colour ‘Finest’, which is a deep pink glitter colour. I tried to get a good picture of the sparkles but I don’t think I have done it justice. This is also a nail polish that sparkles when you move, so still photos again don’t really show the shine that they have. They do look glittery, but wearing the polish on my nails and going about my business, there are definitely certain lights where they really do sparkle. I think this is perfect for the festive period as it is quite an understated level of sparkle, but just enough to make you feel a little bit special. The colour is lovely too and as usual, Barry M really excel in their highly pigmented colours.
I used this nail polish with the Barry M top coat and I am very impressed. I painted my nails over a week ago at this point and they are still unchipped. I work a very computer heavy job, so am constantly tapping my fingers against a keyboard, and I also do weightlifting 2 times a week, so needless to say my hands do take quite a beating throughout the week. Usually my nail polish starts to chip after a few days due to the constant use of them throughout my day, but with the top coat on, my nail polish has not budged. I would definitely recommend using a top coat if you wanted this nail polish to last for the whole festive period.

I have always been a big fan of Barry M, not only because they are one of the best brands out there for colourful make up, but they are also a largely vegan and cruelty free brand. According to their website, their entire collection of make up has been vegan since around 2020, which is obviously very much welcome. They are also very affordable – this nail polish was £4.50 from Superdrug, which is very affordable and of a very high quality. I do have some other nail polish colours from Barry M that I have had for years at this point (please don’t judge me!) and it still goes on smoothly and has lost none of its pigmentation.
