It is officially the holiday season! Nothing makes me feel as festive as gingerbread does, and when the gingerbread latte flavouring returns to the UK, it is the definitive sign that Christmas is on its way!

I am not a massive coffee drinker (much prefer my tea) but in all honesty this doesn’t have much of a coffee taste to it at all. It really does taste like a melted down gingerbread man. The syrup itself is fully vegan friendly so you can get it with whatever choice of milk you prefer. I prefer oat milk, but I believe you can also choose soya or almond. I do wonder whether almond would add a slightly nutty flavour to the latte, which could be a very tasty addition to the gingerbread? Do let me know if you try this version!
I would have opted to also get vegan whipped cream on top but unfortunately my local Starbucks branch had run out of the vegan whipped cream. The gingerbread latte is already quite a sweet drink, so the whipped cream does run the risk of making the drink a bit too sickly sweet, so it is probably for the best I couldn’t have this option. Again, if anyone else has tried this version, do let me know if you think it is worth it or not!
Now this cost me £5.20, which is obviously rather expensive for a take away coffee. But at the same time, I probably buy a coffee once or twice a year, so for me it is very much a rarity. But it is also the holiday period, which means that we are all allowed to treat ourselves that little bit more, so if you want to try something that will undoubtedly get you in the festive spirit, this is definitely a must!
