What do you enjoy most about writing?
For me writing is an escape. It is a way for me to fully and completely lose myself in a different world, and to full fall into the characters and the story that I have created. It has always been obvious to me that the only creative gift I have is my ability to write – every other creative outlet I have is a hobby I have had to build up and had to work on. But with writing it is effortless. I have never had to think about writing, or to really think about the stories I am telling. It all just comes to me. It is also something that connects me to my inner child – I work in an industry that is quite a heavy subject matter, and being an adult can be really hard most of the time, but when I am writing I am able to let my imagination run completely wild. I don’t have to adhere to any norms or known structures within society – I can very literally throw the book away and just let the story run as wild as I wish it to and can create worlds, characters and adventures that have no bearing on the real world. Which is always such a freeing activity to do.
