I have always been a very active person, but it is only in the last few years or so that I have actually started to enjoy exercising. Beforehand, I would only work out to earn my food, but now I work out because I actually want to work out. I like being able to challenge my body and my mind in new ways, and overall it has all given me a new sense of appreciation for what my body can do.
My favourite activity though has to be running. Running is possibly the only physical activity I have ever done that truly does reset my whole body and silence my mind. These past few years I have been trying to just enjoy my runs, and not to focus so much on time or my speed, and to just enjoy the physical feeling of moving my body. I have set myself new challenges each year and every year I am still amazed that I have been able to do these and so proud of myself for working on something that is entirely for my benefit only.
I have now taken this to such a degree that as you are reading this, I will likely have just set off on my first ever marathon! I have spent the past 5 months training for this day, and even if it is pouring with rain, or if the course is nothing but one big hill, I am so excited to finally cross that finish line and cross a massive goal off of my Bucket List!
