I have finally found them! Candy pencils have always been one of my favourite sweets, but finding a vegan version has been so hard. I have no idea why its been so hard, but I had given up ever finding a vegan version.
My local Lidl has never been the best, usually having a very limited vegan food selection so I don’t tend to go in there very often. But the other day my husband wanted to test out the bakery (we had a craving for pastries) so we actually had a look around.
And I truly hit gold! As expected, Lidl’s actual vegan offerings were very slim – a few Linda McCartney bits and a few packs of party food – but their candy selection was next level! The pencils did not last the night, and in all honesty, you would not be able to tell that these were vegan. They tasted the same and had the same texture that I always loved in the pencils, so I was feeling very accomplished with this find. If you have also been missing out on these candies, definitely give your local Lidl a visit. They had so many other candy options too so I will definitely be back soon. Most likely when I have another movie night planned, where candy is an absolute must have!
