A new day and a new Krispy Kreme to trial! In all honesty it has been a good month or so since I have actually had a Krispy Kreme – I’ve been travelling around with work a fair bit and taking more weekend breaks away with my husband, so my usual routine has been well and truly disrupted. But there is something so comforting about a Krispy Kreme doughnut, and with their new Biscoff flavours released, it seemed only right to pick them up.

I thought I would start with the Biscoff glaze, as this seems like it would be the nicest. I have to admit, this is indeed my favourite of the two new offerings, but it isn’t that great I’m afraid. It is very much like an original glaze but with a very subtle Biscoff flavour to it. Now I do admit that Biscoff can get very sickly, very quickly, so I do understand why they were not too heavy handed with the Biscoff. However, they could have afforded to be slightly more liberal with the amount of Biscoff used. If I didn’t know that it was Biscoff, I would not have been able to tell because the flavour is very, very subtle.
There isn’t really much more to say about this. If you enjoy the original glaze from Krispy Kreme (which I still argue is the best glaze doughnut that I’ve tried) then you’ll probably enjoy this one just as much. It is still tasty, but it isn’t really the Biscoff I was expecting.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are usually around the £3 mark, and this one was £2.95 on its own. I do however tend to buy the doughnuts in their multipacks as I am sharing them with my husband, and it is usually cheaper per doughnut. I have said before that I think Krispy Kreme is very much affordable. Their doughnuts are nothing show-stopping, but they are definitely worthy of the £3 price tag – their doughnuts are consistent and tasty, and whilst they don’t do anything revolutionary with the doughnut, you don’t really expect them to.
