Max Factor all day flawless 3-in-1 foundation

Before I went vegan, my favourite brand of make up was always Max Factor. I always found their products to be very high quality without costing an insane amount of money. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am not a make up expert, so I have never needed my make up to do any more than the basics. I usually only wear foundation, mascara and a bit of lipstick, as my job has always required that make up be kept very subtle and simple. This is something I am slowly experimenting with more, and so I was very excited to see that Max Factor do now have a few vegan make up products!

I also have to say that I am very pale, so go wit the lightest shade they do, which is fair porcelain. I also live in a place that gets very little sunshine, but I still value my skin health and so do try to use sun protection products as much as I can. This product is a primer, a concealer and a foundation all in one but also does contain SPF. So in my book that makes it a 4-in-1?

I use this mostly as my foundation. It is very light weight, which is always a plus, but it also lasts the entire day which I was a little surprised at. Usually when a product feels to be light weight, I find that it tends to fade as the day goes on and then I have to top it up. But this Max Factor product is very much flawless in that once it is on, it is ON. I find that the only time it does start to rub off or fade in places is when I am working out, but that is to be expected because i am obviously sweating way more than I normally would, and I am also likely to be wiping my face with a gym towel. So in my day to day, working life, this product so far has been amazing. It also does feel very creamy when first putting it on, and it dries to a nice matt finish, which I prefer over a dewy look which some other foundations can give you.

The only downside with it though is the whole ‘once it is on, it is ON’. I do find that I have to use very little at a time and slowly build up the areas where I need more coverage, as it does dry quite quickly and can be a bit hard to blend if you use too much and it starts drying. I feel that it is meant to be used as a buildable product, but there were definitely a few first attempts where I was far too heavy handed! Just something to be aware of if you did want to give this a try.

This foundation cost me £14, which whilst not that expensive when you think of other big name make up, it is easily one of the more expensive products along the high street. I do however think it is worth the price tag. I have been using this for about 6 months and I think I’m about half way through the packet. I do have some hesitations as to how it will hold up in the hotter summer months, but I also live in England so…my idea of a ‘hot summer’ is likely not that hot at all.
