I may be late to this party but I have only just discovered that the Aussie brand now have loads of vegan options. Which I am very excited about, as Aussie hair products were always one of my favourites and I was so sad to have to stop using them when I started on my vegan journey. I was also very excited to try their curly hair freidnly products too, as my hair has been in desperate need for some real care and attention lately. The gym may be good for my body, but my poor hair is taking quite the beating thanks to the sweat and the ponytails.
I have been using this now for about a month (I tend to wash my hair about once a week, so luckily prodcs do last me a while) and I am very impressed. The conditioner is very creamy, but also quite light. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy or greasy as some conditioners can, and it also makes my hair feel nice and hydrated. I find that a little of this conditioner goes a long way so that has also helped this purchase last longer. I use roughly a golf ball size of conditioner and I find once I’ve brushed it through my hair it is the perfect amount to get through all of my hair wihout weighing it down.
It also smells so good. It has a very subtle coconut smell to it, which is a smell that always reminds me of being on holiday and just instantly lifts my mood. The jojoba oil also clearly helps a lot because once my hair dries, my hair is so soft. I also find that my curls stay more intact without needing any addtional product, so that is always a bonus. I also have to say that my hair is slowly starting to look healthier and shinier since I started using this product.
I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable this product is too. I bought this conditioner for £4, which I feel is quite the bargain, bearing in mind that most of the specialist made curly hair ssafe vegan products are at least £5-£10 depending on where you shop. I also see that the Aussie brands tends to be on offer quite often (at least in Tesco in the UK) so will definitely stock up the next time I see it on sale. As I say, I am quite lucky that I wash my hair about once a week, and I think if I wasn’t working out so much I could possibly get away with only washing my hair every two weeks. I like to think it’s the joy of having curly hair that I can hide the grease more, but my hair can also get quite dry so who knows really! this product is nearly empty- maybe two more washes left if I had to guess – so it clearly lasts a decent amount of time between purchases.
