Christmas is always my favourite time of the year, mainly because the snow fairy collection at Lush is released! This stuff smells so good and instantly lifts my mood with its bubblegum and candy smells. So of course, come January and the Boxing Day sales, I try my best to stock up on the snow fairy goodness so it lasts me throughout the year.

Now this jelly is quite the surprise for me. Food wise, I hate jelly. I hate the way it moves and how it tastes, and there is just something about it that makes me feel very uncomfortable. So I was a little put off when I opened up a gift box and found it contained a jelly. Granted, she is a very cute snow fairy. I’ve been using her for about two weeks at this point so her face is looking slightly less defined compared to how it was when I first got her out of the tub. It smells just as lovely as the bars of soap do, so if you like the smell of snow fairy, you’ll enjoy the smell of this.
The one thing that took me a while to get used to though, was the texture. It feels like I am not holding anything when I pick this up in the shower. It is also really quite slippery, even before you get it wet, so I have dropped it many a times just trying to get it out of the container let alone hold onto it while I attempt to wash myself. Again, there is just something about jelly that makes me uncomfortable, so using this the first few times just made me feel a bit…wrong. There is clearly something in my brain that is VERY against jelly. My husband however, absolutely loves it and thinks that jelly soap is far easier to deal with than bars of soap. So clearly it is a big personal choice. Just something to be aware off.

After the initial yuckiness of the jelly texture, it works exactly how a bar of soap does. It lathers up very nicely (once you get the hang of doing that with jelly) and I admit that at times it can just be fun to play with. As it is now February though, the snow fairy line is no longer available, however the jelly soaps are here to stay at Lush. I have seen they do a lot of their regular favourite smells as a jelly form, so are easy enough to try out. The texture seems to be the exact same no matter which smell you go for, so if you fancy something in your shower give this a try!
