This may be a cheat but last year I did a short post about how to bunny proof your house so that your rabbit can be free range. These tips will help make your home suitable for a rabbit, so that your rabbit and all of your furniture is kept safe and secure.
A hutch is not enough space for a rabbit and whilst it is somewhere that can be useful as somewhere for your rabbit to sleep, they should not be confined to a hutch all day long. They should be able to wander around as they please and be able to have access to open areas where they can binky, run and play to their heart’s content. As prey animals, rabbits will also have a much better time if they are kept indoors where predators and the elements cannot get to them. You will also not have to worry about how cold it is outside, or if there are foxes in the area or anything bad happening to your rabbit whilst you sleep.
It took me a few months of trial and error to find out what best works for our home and for our rabbit, but we’ve definitely got it down now. See this post here for my tips and pointers, and of course if you have any advice yourself from bunny proofing your home, please do let me know in the comments so I can add them to the list – every little helps and it’s all for the good of the bunnies!
