A new day and a new donut! Now I am saying that this is all for wedding research (donut towers are far more exciting than your standard wedding cake) so really it would be silly of me not to try a new offering. Now Krispee Kreme did bring out quite a big range of new vegan donuts way back in Veganuary, however they all disappeared come February. However in the last few months I have seen vegan options slowly becoming available in stores. Annoyingly you still can only buy their vegan glazed donuts online, but at least in store you have quite a few options appearing.
This Strawberry Glaze though I believe it completely new so wasn’t even offered for Veganuary. So of course in the name of research, I had to try it.
This is actually a very satisfying donut. It is basically your standard glaze but with a very soft taste of strawberry. Nothing too in your face, but not so subtle that you barely notice the difference. It was also not as sweet as I was expecting which I was actually very grateful for.
There isn’t really much else to say about this donut. It is pretty standard but it does have that slight edge over a normal glaze. Sometimes that’s all you need from a donut. It tasted refreshing but not sickly and satisfied that need for a donut without also sending me into sugar-shock.
